GSL Investigator Dr. Susan Rogers Van Katwyk's research on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) received an honourable mention for the 2019 Worton Researcher in Training Award. The award from The Ottawa Hospital singled out Susan’s recent study published in PLOS Medicine, which shows that little rigorous research has been done to find effective national strategies for addressing antimicrobial resistance and provides a range of possible solutions. Susan has presented these research findings to collaborators across government, international organizations, and at the World Health Organization (WHO).
At GSL, Susan directs projects on national and global responses to AMR. Her recent projects have included organizing a high-level policy dialogue on AMR governance in collaboration with colleagues at the University of Oxford, a review of educational opportunities for healthcare workers in the realm of AMR in collaboration with the World Health Organization, and an analysis of national AMR policy action in collaboration with the AMR Tripartite.
The Global Strategy Lab would like to congratulate Susan for her outstanding work and all these accomplishments.
