GSL’s Roojin Habibi Gives Presentation at the 2018 IHSP Conference on Legalizing Marijuana in Canada

On April 27, former GSL Research Assistant, Roojin Habibi, presented at the 2018 IHSP Conference on Legalizing Marijuana. Roojin discussed how legalizing marijuana in Canada will break three UN drug control treaties – the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances and the 1988 Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances. She also identified several ways for reconciling domestic cannabis legalization plans with international legal obligations under the United Nations drug control regime.
