On May 7 and 8, GSL co-hosted an Expert Workshop on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) with Oxford Martin School (OMS). GSL team members travelled to Oxford to participate with a group of internationally renowned experts in disciplines ranging from international law to medicine, and epidemiology to philosophy. The two-day workshop considered what an effective, fair, and feasible international legal agreement on AMR would look like. While there was much agreement about the severity of AMR and the necessity of more intense, bold, and ambitious action, there was a lively debate about what that action could and should look like. This fruitful discussion brought about many perspectives, key issues, principles, and provisions that must be considered moving forward with the global response to AMR.
