GSL's Tanishq Suryavanshi co-authored an op-ed in the Toronto Star, titled "The government is letting our future physicians down." Building on the recent suicide of Dr. Robert Chu, Suryavanshi highlights the lack of support that Canada's newest physicians are facing once graduating from medical school by pointing out the difficulty for new grads being matched to a residency program coupled with gruelling working conditions. Graduates are expected to put their careers first, often at the expense of personal and mental health and wellbeing, due to an under-funded and flawed system often resulting in burnout and depression.
