Adèle Cassola and Isaac Weldon

On December 4, GSL Investigator Adèle Cassola and Research Fellow Isaac Weldon presented two new GSL projects at the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research (DIGHR) workshop on Critical Perspectives in Global Health. The project presented by Adèle Cassola focuses on the interaction between global gender norms and organizations addressing health issues in humanitarian settings. Isaac Weldon's presentation focussed on the efficacy of employing international relations theory in studying antimicrobial resistance, asking if IR theory possesses the normative framework, conceptual apparatus, and methodological tools necessary to investigate AMR as a planetary health challenge.

In the aftermath of the workshop, the DIGHR will offer five research seed grants of up to $5,000 CAD each, to support the development of further research in the area of critical perspectives in global health, and invite the researchers that are awarded the grants to present at a future workshop in the spring of 2020.
