Nicola is a first-year medical student at the University of Toronto with a strong interest in integrating macro-level healthcare processes (i.e. healthcare management and policy) in his future career as a physician-leader. As a Summer Intern, and now Research Assistant, with the Global Strategy Lab, Nicola authored a high-level overview of key challenges in global vaccination efforts, and is currently working on a systematic review aimed at investigating the effects of international law on health and its social determinants.
Additionally, Nicola is also acting as a co-investigator on a McMaster-based study aimed at quantifying the effect of long wait-times in Ontario’s Autism Intervention Program. He is interested in leveraging his clinical and policy-based experiences to inform and change health systems and infrastructure at the organizational and administrative level.
