Olivia was a Research Assistant for the Global Strategy Lab, is a former law student (on leave), and a first year medical student at the University of Ottawa. She graduated from the Bachelor of Arts & Science program at McMaster University, where she has worked as a research assistant for the Ontario HIV Treatment Network and for the McMaster Health Forum.  Her undergraduate thesis, Stigma and HIV/AIDS in South Africa: Exploring Respect and Treatment Adherence was published in the International Journal of Tropical Disease and Health. 

In her past life as a law student, Olivia has worked as a research assistant for Professor Jennifer Chandler, and as a policy intern at Genome Canada and at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Her research interests include genetic discrimination and privacy law, forensic DNA, genetic evidence, research to reporting / health journalism and medico-legal policy issues. 
 
Outside of research, Olivia can be found running along the canal, drinking tea, catching a movie at Bytowne or simply enjoying fresh air.
