Tanishq Suryavanshi is a Medical Student at McMaster University. He is also a graduate of Liaison College Culinary School and McMasters BHSc. program, and a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Tanishq is interested in how we can use policy, innovation and entreprenuership to improve the state of health in our societies.
At the Global Strategy Lab, Tanishq has helped develop our understanding of how the entertainment industry influences public health, and is helping inform policy on how to address Antimicrobial Resistance in Canada. He has also worked on the ground with the 53rd Week, an NGO in the Dominican Republic that analyzes volunteering ethics, and works to develop more sustainable models of international aid. As a medical student, Tanishq is involved with advocacy with the Ontario Medical Students Association, and works on the topics of mental health, as well as physician leadership.
Tanishq is also an avid writer, and has commented on the need for surgery in the UN Sustainable Development Goals, refugee mental health, Pharmacare in Canada, and strategies for promoting public health. You can read his blog here.
